Joah Nelson

Bio

Coach Nelson is beginning his third year coaching and his first year coaching for the Bruins. He
spent the first two years coaching offensive line at Byrnes High School and also was the head
JV baseball coach. He has been married to Makenna for three years, and they have one
daughter, Madelyn (1). Coach Nelson is a graduate of Spartanburg High School where he
played football and baseball earning All-Region in both sports multiple years and being named
to the All-State team his junior and senior years. Coach Nelson was a member of the
Spartanburg Vikings football team that won the state championship in 2014. He went to
Limestone University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration while
playing baseball for the Limestone University Saints.
